Self Assessment Help

Trying to keep it short, I need to complete a self assessment for 23/24 which I only registered for a couple of weeks ago. I'm having issues retrieving my P60 to complete the relevant information.

What I'm not clear on....do I really need to submit by tomorrow? Have I already incurred a fine as I did not register by October?

When I log into the gateway, it says I need to submit by Jan 31st however when I click into the assessment itself, it says April 30? Is this because I get 3 months to complete from the point of registering?

As I don't have all the information I need to complete the return (from my P60) I'm not sure if it's better to submit something tomorrow (to the best of my ability) or just wait until I have all the information, if I have already incurred the fine?

I doubt there's any point calling them today as I'll be on hold for hours?

Anyone have any insight? Thanks!

Looking at the gov.uk website https://www.gov.uk/self-assessment-tax-returns/penalties it looks like you have until 30th April.

My advice is do it asap but get it right so wait for your P60.

I know you are not suppose to but have you checked your HMRC account to see if the P60 details are already captured.
