REMORTGAGE ADVICE

I am looking to balance transfer my credit card debit to a 0% card
I am due to remortgage in June
Would you wait to do the balance transfer until my new mortgage deal is in place or does it not really matter who I have credit card debt with it’s the amount a lender looks at

@131104E you can remortgage earlier (upto 6 months for most lenders) if that works for you. Opening new credit accounts can be a warning sign to some lenders, so i'd either get it done now so it's clear on the credit report that you've transferred the money and not got any additonal debt, or hold off until you've remortgaged.

Mortgages are not so heavily affected by things like credit cards etc as long as you're not over committed, but it can still have an impact. The amount you owe on the credit card will have an impact on the top amount you can borrow on a mortgage. Eg if you'd be eligible for 200k mortgage but have 10k on a credit card, it's likely you're eligibility will only be for 190k.
