Level 2/3 course on uc

Hi, I'm currently on universal credit as I'm a full time carer (also receive carers allowance) for my son. I wondered if I was allowed to study one of the government funded level 2 distance learning courses without it affecting my benefits? I'd also like to do a distance learning level 3 award at some point and wondered if that was okay also?

Thanks

As you're a Carer so not subject to any Work Related Requirements I'd have thought your time was your own but I've a nagging doubt about the compatibility of caring and study.

Thanks. I can't seem to find a definitive answer on that one. He is home educated so time is very limited but I do have time when he goes to bed and wanted to do something to try and better myself.

It blows my mind that if you are in UC you are penalised for trying to improve your future prospects.
