Can Ex Avoid CMS Collect & Pay?

After nearly 10 years of not receiving a penny from my ex (2 dc, 17 and 19) I went on to collect and pay last year. I’ve had 6 payments and now they have stopped. CMS are useless and have basically struggled their shoulders and said “dunno”. When I spoke to them yesterday they said his employer may have a problem processing it or he could’ve changed employment. They don’t know. The missed payment has been added to arrears (now 5.5k). Funnily enough this coincides with dcs having enough of his shit and gone nc with him. He is a clever, sneaky bastard and it wouldn’t surprise me if he’s worked out a way to stop paying. What is the point of Collect and Pay if they’re not collecting and I’m not getting paid? I assumed that he couldn’t get round it. Has anyone had experience of this? Do the payments restart at any point?

Is it possible that he’s just quit his job? No income would mean no maintenance owed, so nothing to collect?

When my ex had made 6 consecutive payments through collect and pay they automatically moved him to direct pay.
Can you check online and see if it now says 'direct pay'?
