Unable to get through to HMRC tax credits helpline 0345 300 3900.

My neighbour has health issues and relies on me to help her with her paperwork. She is getting very stressed and upset as she can't get though to the HMRC tax credits helpline 0345 300 3900 and they are asking for money from her. She is trying to dispute the information. She spoke to someone last week but they are passing her from pillar to post (Tax Credits to Pension Credits) and she now can't get through at all. They are asking for money so she is worried sick and she has spent hours trying the number.

She has tried for a few days now. We have tried to do it online but it won't let her.

Is there another way/phone number?

Thanks.

You mention Pension Credit. Was she receiving Working or Child Tax Credit after State Pension Age and if so have they stopped and/or been migrated to Universal Credit?

Have you/she tried an advice agency such as Citizens Advice?

Try her MP. They will have caseworking staff who can help.

They sent the Migration letter to the wrong address so she didn't get the letter.

Will keep trying the phone line plus Citizens Advice and her MP. Thank you.
