If DH earns £30k and I’m on either SMP or nothing, can we claim benefits?

As in the title really!

From the start of the next tax year, I will be on statutory maternity pay for about 2.5 months then £0 income for about 2.5 months before returning to work.

DH works full time and earns about £30k. We have less than £10k in savings.

Apart from child benefit, is there anything else we could claim for those five months? We have one child and own a (heavily mortgaged!) home.

Thank you.

Back of a fag packet says not but different if this is not your first child.

Have you tried a benefits calculator? Entitled.to I think it's called.

Ah great thank you I’ll look at that now!
