Carers allowance

Has anyone had an issue with getting carers allowance? Applied back in July received a letter a 5 weeks (aug) later saying I qualified for carers allowance back checked to April and would receive more details within 7 days, after a month still no letter called weekly for update with nothing being further forward, it has been escalated 3/4 times and now a manager is looking into it. Any ideas why this is?

Yes applied over 12 months ago, had to get our local MP involved. Still waiting.

No issue for a family member who applied, fairly quick and easy

Oh my I thought we were a long time, absolutely no light shed on what the hold up is, just keep getting palmed off with it shouldn’t be much longer.

Absolutely agree with the advice to ask your mp to write on your behalf. You should be able to find details of their local clinics & see in person or you can write to them at the House of Commons

@Km0416 Honestly, get your MP involved. Mine wrote to them in November, and they still haven't replied to him! So even he's chasing them up now. And they have a direct contact to a team that's meant to sort this out. No idea what's going on with them, but they seem to be waay behind with everything.
