Change of trustee - inheritance

My children inherited a sum of money from their paternal grandfather. It is being held in trust until they are older. My children’s aunt is currently the named trustee.
Can anyone tell me (in simple layman’s language if possible) what the process is to change the trusteeship to me (the children’s mother).
The current trustee is happy to transfer responsibility so that I can maximise interest on the money. It’s currently earning very little and has for some years.

Many thanks if you’re able to help.

You need a deed of retirement and replacement of trustee. A solicitor will be able to prepare this for you. Look for a STEP qualified solicitor.
