We pay dh ex directly on a monthly basis.

Dh has been off work for 9 weeks with a broken wrist and has only been paid sick pay.

This month we paid his ex £80 instead of the normal £130 and she's going mad.

Does anyone know where we stand on this? Do we still have to pay the full agreed amount when we hardly got any money or can we pay a percentage of his sick pay. We obvioulsy have bills to pay on not a lot of money

Assuming that he's paying in accordance with a consent order made by the court and not via the CSA then technically the arrears under the order are enforceable.

I would imagine that his ex relies on the money that he gives her. It doesn't matter what bills you have to pay. £80 a month is a ridiculously low sum to pay for a child. Do you mean per week?

did he let her know in adavance that there was a problem? did he offer to pay her extra over the next few months to make up the shortfall?
