most will do free consultations - from experieince of others etc you do need someone who you feel confident adn comfortable with so worth seeing what they are like

Are the assets significant? If so, there is a magic circle of law firms that do moneyed divorces.

blueshoes has a good point -worth getting someone in who is more expert in complexities.

That said I think if you are in a situation where you can use mediation that seems to be a good way forward.
