Hey,

so I’m another one about to experience a mortgage payment Increase, albeit a smaller one than others that I’ve seen on here.

I’m 41, divorced with 2 teens. I work full time but also receive pip. My mortgage is about to increase by 250 per month. I can afford it but it’s a worry. I’ve sent today going over my budget and trimming that fat by getting rid of some unnecessary outgoings. Here is my current situation-

net salary monthly - 2900
money from ex dh - 450
PIP- 549
child benefit - £169
total- 4068

new mortgage - 1235
utilities - 224
council tax 105
food- 500 (sometimes manage less)
car-379 (electric so no fuel costs)
phones/internet l- 78
insurances ( house/car) - 61
kids pocket money- 80
savings pot for birthdays/christmas- 150
haircuts- 30
clothes/uniform savings pot- 50
Union fees- 32
physiotherapy- 60
life insurance - 9.61
new kitchen savings- 250
credit card -100
loan £122 ( almost done)

total - 3465.61

it looks as though I’ll be ok, but it is a worry for me. I pray that no major unexpected costs come up!!

hoping that rates come down over next few years.

that is higher rate pip?

don’t you have any regularl monthly costs relating to your disability to factor in?
