Hey

I applied for PIP I had my health assessment I then requested the assessment she has gave me enough points to get low rate daily living and low rate motability but I haven't heard from a decision maker yet will the decision maker go with the health asessors report or do they just decide on evidence

Many thanks

I understand that in the vast majority of cases the decision maker will go with the health assessors report . I have helped a number of people apply for PIP and in all cases the decision maker has agreed with the health professional's report. The decision maker should look at the report from the assessment provider,
the ‘How your disability affects you’ form and any additional additional evidence that the claimant has provided, or further evidence that the assessment provider has given”. In reality in the vast majority of cases they don't seem to bother.

Thank you sooo much for replying it's just a wait and see now till the decision maker puts it through then

Just to let you know, you don’t qualify for Motability if you have the low rate mobility component, only the high rate. I wouldn’t want you to get your hopes up that you might be able to get a lease car.

Thank you but no I don't drive anyway so wouldn't want the car but very greatful for you telling me I did want to know if someone can get carers for low rate daily living

Many thanks

I've seen people get enough points to be awarded and the decision maker has taken away points so they haven't got the award. It all depends on whose desk it lands on really.

That said yes someone can get carers element or/and carers allowance if you get the care part of pip doesn't matter if it's high or low.

Thank you I'm just under the threshold of high on both with what the health asessors report so hopefully they won't take all the points off me
