Child Benefit back dated more than 3 months?

Hi, has anyone had any success with appealing child benefit further than 3 months? I didn't claim for my 3rd child for 7 years due to the law change around Child Tax Credits in 2017 the year he was born, when Child Tax Credits was capped at 2 children. I wrongly presumed this was Child Benefit being capped. Any advice gratefully received :)

You won't get it backdated as it was your error. You may have had a chance if it was an error on there part, but with your scenario not a chance. Sorry!

I know you’re probably in the UK but I suppose it’s worth asking. I am in Ireland and I am moved over here from the UK. It took me a long time to get my head run things and actually apply for child benefit. They backdated it to the date I moved to the country. It had been three years and I got over 10k! Worth a try
