Universal Credit previous earnings

The online system asked me to confirm earnings. Is this net after tax, ni and my pension contribution? As I don't have my payslips. We had mid year payrises. It says online you can take it from your bank account so assume its net but is it OK if its after pension contribution?

Yes. UC doesn’t penalise for pension contributions. So it’s net after pension.
if you have student finance they don’t factor that in so you would need to add whatever you’ve paid in student finance to the amount.

If you're making an application I think it's gross they need. It's mostly needed to check if the Benefit Cap applies.

I already made the application where I gave previous gross salary.

This is in the online journal as a follow up question. They want to know month by month in a box for each month what I earnings went into my bank account. I think I will go with net.
