how to access cash when I lost my bank cards?

I stupidly lost my bank cards yest evening. I called my bank who blocked them. I have no cash at home, bank was only open until noon today and I couldn't make it to the branch. and I won't be able to get to town before Tuesday. I have a tenner and 2 DC. No family and friends I could ask for cash.

Worse case, we just stay at home and eat what's in the fridge and netflix etc, and cancel plans for tomorrow and Monday (we won't starve and survive) but I wondered if there is any way to get my hands on some money in the meantime. Probably not but sometimes, MN has some great ideas.

My bank will give me a one time code that I put into an ATM (I guess it has to be one of thier ATMs) and I get as much cash as I set it up to get.

To prevent it happening again, open a new account with a different bank. Transfer a bit of money into it. Then keep the card somewhere safe in your house, so that you won't lose it. You can then use that card if your other card(s) get lost or stolen as an interim measure.

You only need to keep maybe £5 in the other account as you can transfer money to it from you main account if you need to.

Was going to say, open another account with a different bank and keep the card safe at home.
We also keep enough money for a weeks food shopping and a full tank of petrol in cash at home, just in case. We got caught in a supermarket last year when their system went down, so a spare card was no use, but they kept my shopping that they had scanned in a trolley and I dashed home for cash.

If you go into Nationwide tomorrow and take some ID they can give you cash over the counter. I had to do this when I had a purse stolen.
