I want to apply for a cc, one j will pay off in full each month. My friend says she gets perks with hers: John Lewis I think?

Has anyone applied lately? Reviews suggest all those Amex cards for flights points but I don't need those.

Halifax clarity for me, no fees for using overseas and easy to get hold of, uk based call centre.

Look for a cash back one, we ger over £200 a year with ours just by putting our usual spending on it then paying in full monthly.

We have the Lloyds bank cash back card - put all spending through get a fair bit of cash back ( pay in full each month).

Ours is an MBNA one. Go on something like compare the market or money saving expert and you can compare all the deals and do a soft search to see if you’re eligible.

Nat west also have a CC that gives cash back. You need to have their current account as well though.

Amex give cash back, you don't have to have air miles. For the first three months the cashback is a generous 5% before going to 0.5%.
