Missing money

Wondering if there was anyone who knew anything about International Bank transfers.

I work overseas and every month transfer funds from overseas bank to UK bank without any problems.
I transferred a couple of thousand (not a stupid amount) last month,.received the Swift receipt on 12th Sept yet the money is not yet in my account.

A colleague is having the same problem and as her bank is in the same 'group' as mine we believe the problem to be on the UK side rather than the overseas bank or it's intermediary.
We've both been told to send off the unique reference numbers in order to try and trace the funds.
Just wondering if anyone had any idea why money would just disappear, it's very worrying.

Where are you sending it from?

Somewhere not in Europe. Deliberately didn't give the info, though shouldn't make a difference as have been making transfers for the last 18 months without any problems.

Restrictions to sending money change all the time along with the tolerance and anti money laundering policies for banks receiving money. Without knowing what country it is from it’s hard to give specific reasons however your money won’t have disappeared the bank you will have sent it from will able to trace it step by step to locate it.

@Wolfpa thanks for the info. Bank have said there is no reason for it to be blocked and they know where it's being sent from. Sooooo frustrating.
