Finding my pensions?

Hi all, I'm trying to get things in order to move towards a divorce and I've just realised that I know nothing really about my pension. I thought they automatically consolidated but someone told me recently they don't always do that and now I'm worried. I've moved jobs and houses a lot over the years and my suspected adhd brain has been woeful at keeping track of important paperwork like that. Any idea where I would start to find out more about this if I have no account numbers or even know what companies it would have been with? I have very little mental bandwidth to spend on this with everything that's happening so any advice you can give would be appreciated!

If you have contracted out pensions through your work place you can call the HMRC NI helpline. They will give you all your contracted out pension dates and the pension provider 03002003500. You will need your National Insurance number to verify yourself when you call. There is also a tool on gov.uk /Pension trace.

Start here

https://www.moneyhelper.org.uk/en/pensions-and-retirement/pension-problems/tracing-and-finding-lost-pensions

It is a government service and free. Be alert to anyone charging to find pensions for you.
