Enhanced pip

Whats everyone’s experiences on qualifying for enhanced pip? Read a lot of stuff online saying how people have had to
appeal.

I’m in the process of applying for pip and hoping to get enhanced rate for both daily living and mobility…had a text this week to say a letter of the decision will be sent by 2 weeks I feel so anxious waiting and im dreading having to make an appeal.

Regarding daily living I have mental health such as depression, anxiety, ocd etc which effects me in ways such as not able to wash, can’t communicate with people, can’t leave the house…there’s loads more. I think I should be ok for this.

Regarding the mobility part I have long term bone problems, which I’ve had for years most likely since I was born, making it hard for me to walk far and causing my intense pain even when simply standing of course I have good days but there’s a lot more bad days, the pains never unnoticed. Also I struggle to get out the house due to anxiety to the point where I miss doctors appointments as I can’t get out the front door. I’ve heard the mobility part is harder to get so this is the part I’m worried about…someone I know got enhanced mobility purely for anxiety and he blagged most of it so I’d be rather frustrated if I don’t qualify as I have genuine health issues but fingers crossed.

I think you’d struggle to get enhanced daily living for the reasons mentioned to be honest but no one here can tell you what’s been awarded

I have major health problems and two care calls a day from social care and only get standard care. I think you will struggle to be honest.

@PotatoFan

I forgot to say I had previously been receiving pip but made a claim for change of circumstances…I had previously scored 10 points for daily living so only need 2 more points to qualify for enhanced and my health has got a lot worse so I’m confident I’ll manage to get it.

have known people lose the standard when they have reported a change in circumstances so hope you got advice before you did assessment

@patsy999

Hopefully I’ll qualify, I have a mental health nurse who sees me weekly and other things in place. I’ve seen a lot of mixed stories regarding enhanced rate as I mentioned someone I know got enhanced mobility just for anxiety no physical conditions so I think it all depends on the assessor.

@Kitkat1523

I don’t believe I should lose points as my health has deteriorated not gotten better so I’m really hoping the assessor got my points across, just a waiting game now. I was advised by my mental health nurse to try applying for pip again as she visits me and sees how bad my health is.
