Hello I'm just trying to find some information for if anyone has actually been in this situation as I have conflicting advice given. When me and my partner moved in together they were getting esa income related and contribution, I then got a job my partner still received their contribution esa. If we separate will my partner just start receiving their old benefits again or will they have to move to universal credit. Thank you.

Contribution Based ESA will continue but if IR ESA was worth more they can't go back and would need to 'naturally' migrate to UC.

Thank you, I got told by esa advisor their claim would just carry on and their income related, and disability premium would be added and a citizen advisor said it would trigger movement to universal credit. I'm so confused. Thank you for your reply.
