Have the drive but not the business idea

For many years of adult life, I've had the drive to become a successful business owner, to the point of being a millionaire from it. I know I can do it but I feel like there is a mental and financial block to getting something going.

I have a marketing navkground but in a very nice area and I work in a role where I would be unable to create a business that competes with the company I work for.

I've done online money making ideas such as surveys, mystery shopping, fiverr etc. but the financial rewards are so few and the market competitive.

Does anyone else feel like this, like they just cannot get started?

P.S. I have done MLM and absolutely not interested in this route

Anyone who has done MLM and believes they have the drive and ability to become a millionaire just isn’t a serious business person. No serious entrepreneur who actually understand business and would be successful would look at an MLM and think they could make money from it.

Stick with your day job.

Is this like those X factor contestants who just really want it so much?

If you really want to be successful but don't have a business idea, look into running a franchise. There are loads about and you would do really well in that route if you have a lot of drive.

(However you generally have to pay a lot of money upfront)

Alternatively research side hustle's and see if you can get something going.

It’s really not the time to be opening any sort of physical retail outlet. Not with the amount of money you have to sink into them to get a franchise started when everything is closing. Physical shops are on the decline in a huge way. Restaurants are failing, even those in a chain. It’s not a good idea for someone with no experience.

This is a person who saw an MLM and thought it would be a moneymaker. I was 22 when I had my first child, and started getting Facebook messages from all these MLMers offering “great income working from home” and “perfect for new mums.” They must have been in all the baby groups and pages and just spammed any new members. I had no idea what an MLM was, got one of these messages, looked at it and my instant reply was, “This is a Ponzi scheme, stop scamming people and get yourself out of this.”

I am now a successful business owner. The OP jumped into MLMs and… she is not.

This really. Surely with becoming a multi millionaire business owner, you start with an actual successful business? Or at least a business idea. All of us would like to become millionaires op. If we had the knowledge how, we’d be doing it, not sharing it 🤣

friendlycat · 28/08/2024 23:39

How old are you?

You sound rather immature at wanting to become a millionaire without any foundation of a business to start with that you have already developed.

We all want to become millionaires, but it’s far harder to achieve than just wanting to become one!

What products or service are you going to sell that’s going to be popular, consistent and profitable? If you can’t get that starting point right you have no chance at all of making money, let alone on the scale you want.

Nobody is going to hand you a sure thing or give you an answer because if you have the drive, you'd run with at least one of the ideas you must surely have come up with by now.

That's the thing about people who run successful businesses, they actually go for it without a guarantee it will work.

They make it work, or they fail, learn from the failure and try something else.
Rinse and repeat until they succeed.

What they don't do is waste years wishing somebody would tell them what to do.

You need to really believe in your business to make it successful, and that doesn't happen by asking a bunch of randos to suggest business ideas.

Retrain as something else or use your drive to do more training.
