Adding a child onto universal credit

I'm a single parent to 3 children.. work full time but topped up with UC. My daughter starts nursery in September and UC said I can claim back up to 80% of the childcare costs. Only thing is I have realised that I haven't even added her onto my universal claim. I didn't think to do this as I know you can't claim for more than 2 children. I've just added her onto my account but I'm not sure what the next step is. Would they ask for proof?I have her birth certificate and her gp letter.

Yes they will likely ask for proof as she will need to be verified. Even if you can't claim child element for her it can still affect things like how many bedrooms you are eligible to claim for if you claim rent element. It's also important to have her on your claim so that when your eldest drops off the claim, you will be paid child element for your youngest.
