We have extended family, my husband has a daughter from previous relationship and she is going to be 18this year.
So my husband started thinking of a present and apparently he is considering a car (second hand for the matter).
We do have hefty mortgage, which I'm trying to overpay whenever I can and some repairs for the house are to be done in the next several years.
We both earn ok and could be described as comfortable. The life is expensive and we are not going to get a payrise this year.
I really cannot understand how the car insurance and tax, running costs will be paid. Her mum cannot afford to pay for them and she is not working.
It seems to me like a folly and I really don't know how to deliver the message.
