UC asking for earnings over last few months. They mean before or after deductions?

Just that really.
UC asking for earnings over last few months. They say to get the information from payslips but I'm not sure if they mean before or after deductions like tax, NI etc.
Can anyone clarify please? x

Can you ask via the journal?

UC generally uses net earnings after tax/NI and pension so I'd expect that to be what they want. In an ongoing claim they'd normally pick up what the employer reports when they run payroll, has that not worked for some reason.

After deductions. They will only have reported earnings sent by employer to HMRC. If your employer has failed to report earnings or reported them late, you may have been over paid. Happened to me twice.
