Hi there 😊
I started a claim for pip on January 22nd 2024
I had my telephone interview assessment on the 30th July 2024. Later the same day i had a text saying the dwp have recieved the report and i shall hear from them in around 8 weeks time.
How long after the dwp recieved your report did it take to recieve your decision or award?

It only took me about 2 weeks and that was over Christmas/New year. Good luck.

PotatoFan · 05/08/2024 16:53

About 5 weeks. It will vary by area so you can’t tell based on what other people say. Just ask for a copy of the report if you want to know what’s likely sooner

behindanothername · 05/08/2024 16:55

It took about 3 weeks after the call for me, then they almost always tell you that you don't qualify and you have to request a review of it with another form Confused

DoAClassicCamel · 05/08/2024 16:55

After my phone interview it was a couple of weeks. I got a text with the decision followed by a letter detailing the award.

Bbq1 · 05/08/2024 16:56

8 weeks

SmallGoddess · 05/08/2024 18:05

Just heard today about my son's (successful) claim. 13 days after the phone assessment although we were originally told "up to" 8 weeks.

Kitkat1523 · 05/08/2024 18:11

My DD applied on 2.2.24…had her assessment in June …..had a same day text to say report had been sent to DM…..3 weeks later had a text to say she had been awarded……5 days later got a payment into her bank of back pay…..1 week later got the decision letter and award letter

Jennalong · 05/08/2024 18:14

Applied in May , telephone appointment in July , heard exactly 3 weeks later . Got std daily living element.

BobbyBiscuits · 05/08/2024 18:18

It will be backdated from the day you first submitted the forms. Mine took about 2 weeks after the assessment interview but that was years ago. I've sent my forms back but they're stuck in a backlog and have been for over a year. But I'm already on it so bit of a different situation.

It should be backdated to the date you requested the form provided you met the submission deadline.

BobbyBiscuits · 05/08/2024 18:34

@SmallGoddess ah, yeah..even better. It's a small consolation to get a big payment when you've been waiting months!

JulesTheHuman87 · 07/08/2024 10:15

Thank you everyone who took time to respond. :)

@JulesTheHuman87 I hope you get the award you were hoping for. If not you can always appeal or contest it or whatever it's called.

JulesTheHuman87 · 07/08/2024 12:52

@BobbyBiscuits Thanks mate i will definitely fight for it this time. Just waiting to find out is driving me nuts

At least 12 months seems most common

Hi, I applied for PIP first time in June, just had this text: You've asked us to look at our recent PIP decision again. We will write to you once we've done this. As a guide you should hear from us within 15 weeks. You don't need to contact us unless any of the details you gave have changed. Thank you. What does this mean, I've never had an assessment?!

Have you asked for a mandatory reconsideration?

No, I haven't even had a decision yet! I just don't understand it.

Ok clearly it's a message sent in error or something. I would give them a ring and see what's happening.

Thanks, will call tomorrow as closed today. Very annoying.

Sproutgrower · 21/11/2024 01:48

I rang up in August, but didn't submit the form until Sept- they extended the deadline. I had a phone assessment and was told 7 days later I was successful and 8 days after that the first payment arrived, I can't work out what the award is. Is it backdatedbto when the forms were submitted or the initial phone call?
