Maybe Labour will scrap the vouchers. We can only hope so.

What do you use your pip for?

Have I missed something, have Labour said that vouchers are going to be implemented? If not I am not going to worry about it.

Are you receiving Pip? Do you wish to declare what you use yours for?

It was really just to say if OP used it for say craft items to help with MH then perhaps the money she pays for her gas and electricity then she could get vouchers for gas and electric and pay for her craft things. Things like that might work. I know that’s how I’ll have to work mine if they live to a voucher scheme. @LadyKenya too

LadyWhistled0wn · 25/07/2024 19:38

It's never going to happen, stop worrying. Smile

LadyKenya · 25/07/2024 19:45

That is what the Conservatives seemed to excel at, causing panic, and harm to the population, bar a few. The fact that they even floated such a ridiculous idea, of issuing vouchers to people living with a myriad of disabilities is astounding. How on earth that seemed even remotely acceptable to the party, speaks volumes.

LadyKenya · 25/07/2024 19:52

That is what I think as well@LadyWhistled0wn .

I'm trying to learn more about PIP- won't bore you with my details but please could someone explain under what circumstances vouchers are given rather than payment?

Thank you

I could be wrong but I read that vouchers will be offered to afford equipment to help around disabilities and also to help fund private healthcare instead of waiting for NHS - like I said though, I could be wrong as I only read it quickly and it was a few weeks ago.

I think there's a section on PIP and the proposed voucher scheme on Gov.co.uk

Pedestriancrossing · 01/08/2024 17:25

@Wishitwasstraightforward the government consultation on PIP has now closed so we'll need to wait for the findings to come out. Currently vouchers are not used as part of PIP and I think it's unlikely that vouchers will become the main way in which PIP is awarded, if used at all. Vouchers were a suggestion from the previous Tory government who were determined to falsely depict PIP claimants as having buckets of cash to spend on frivolities.
