UC and money gift

We currently get universal credit and we have kindly been offered a gift of some money for upcoming dc birthday

Does anyone know if this means we will get less/no UC on the month we receive the gift as technically our "wages" for that month will increase?

I don't think it will affect things my partner was gifted some money and it didn't change anything. I think they base it on your wages only from what I can see. Do you have a joint account?

How much and how will you receive it? 20k into your bank, yeah that's gonna affect it. £20 cash in your hand for your birthday, no you don't need to declare it.

Probably around £1-200 and into the bank

That is fine. No need to declare unless it puts your savings over £6k.

Is it a gift for the children? In which case ask the donor to put it directly into an account in their name.
