UC and child pension

I'm currently still on the old tax credits system . I have 3 DC with my ex husband who sadly passed away in Feb this year. 2 of our DC are entitled to a child's pension which I was told is payable to me being their legal guardian . It's only until they are no longer in full time education. My question is once I'm moved over to UC will this mean it will be deducted from my payments ? It's around 300 per month . So like child maintenance although he is no longer with us.

I wouldn’t think so if you can’t spend it

It's being paid into my back account , I asked if it could be paid onto theirs they said no as I am their legal guardian . I was just going to put it into their accounts each month to save or buy anything they need which I now struggle with being a single mum on my own . But when I look up on the UC website it states any pension payments are classed as income ? So that means I will have to use it for us to love off of ? Yet if he was still alive and he was still paying.me child maintenance it wouldnt affect my payments ?

It's not for me it's for them he wanted it to go to them that's why he put their names on his pension but if it's being paid tor they will see it ast income if that makes sense
