Royal London

Hi

Does anyone have any experience with Royal London? We are looking to change to them from our current provider, LV, to provide more cover for our children.

DH is 34, non-smoker/drinker, but was diagnosed with NAFLD last year. No treatment, just lifestyle changes, all other tests normal and clear. Royal London I sailed through problem (despite being overweight and anxiety ridden with a history of a thankfully nothing to worry about fatty breast lump) but requested her have a blood test on his liver. Had it, great, sent it off. They got back in touch and wanted a kidney test. DH annoyed by this point, but had it anyway. Both tests came back fine also.

They have now emailed to say they want him to have a medical with a third party and then they will be in touch with next steps.

I just feel that if it's this hard to actually get insured with them, I dread to think how hard it would be to make a claim.

Any experiences please?

You haven’t said what product you are trying to buy?
We do have experience with RL, but only as a pension provider. I am not a fan of insurances - always preferred to ‘self insure’.

Life insurance, sorry I totally missed that out

I got life insurance with them and they actually sent a nurse to my house to do a medical. They were the only people who would insure me at a reasonable rate at the time, so I thought the service was great.
