UC...no photo ID?

Hello so I've just completed my migration application from tax credits to UC. I have an appointment to verify my ID. Its saying I need to take 3 forms of ID, one being photo ID, the only thing I have is a passport that expired 4 years ago. Are they really expecting me to go apply for photo ID before being accepted for universal credit? Firstly I don't have the money for it and secondly it can take weeks to receive the ID. I'm really worried as UC will be my only source of income and my tax will now stop. Anyone else managed to apply with no photo ID?

Expired passport should be acceptable. However apply for a citizen card, free photo ID as photo ID is needed to vote.

As above, an expired passport will be ok as long as you're recognisable from the picture.

If you don't have photo ID at all UC will do an identity interview asking questions that will enable them to verify who you are. I've seen that done with people who never had photo ID at all - people who lived with their Mam all their life until she died.
