Hmrc fine

Looking for advice as I’m drowning a bit just now. I have a fine from Hmrc for several thousand pounds. Late returns and fines just adding up. I’ve been burying my head in the sand. I’ve been trying to get through on phone to Hmrc all morning but ended up giving up. Will they help me with this I can’t afford to pay it all.thanks in advance.

Tax adviser here. Yes, you should be able to set up a payment plan. I'd recommend filing the outstanding returns as soon as possible otherwise the penalties and interest will just keep piling up. If you need help, the charity tax aid are brilliant.
