Universal Credit switch issues

Hi, first time poster here.
I am writing on here as I seem to be having no luck with UC.
I was on tax credits previously (working tax and child tax) I have one child who is 11, I work part time.
I, like many others were told to change over. I “made the change” back in April 2024, I attended a meeting at a job centre to verify who I was and all seemed well. My tax credits were stopped and I was told I’d be getting a payment in May 2024. However fast forward to June 2024 and I still have not received anything, it was all set up and I could see it on my homepage with UC, my child is listed also. However I have been in and out of contact with the people from UC (some very kind in their manners and others not so much)
I was told my payment couldn’t be given because they haven’t yet verified my living arrangements (I do not claim for any housing)
I keep getting the same message whenever I contact them, which is someone is forwarding it on to the people who verify.
it said I was entitled to the single person allowance but they haven’t verified my child, so because I earn just under £800 a month I am not allowed it until my child is verified, so in turn I was not entitled to anything at all (the single person benefit included)
I am struggling so much and getting deeper into debt. Has anyone else had this problem? I understand with the change it must create a lot of work and issues but equally I have not had any changes and you’d naturally assume that since they insisted on everyone changing over that they would have the necessary details all in place.
Is anyone else having the same issue? I tried to look online but I cannot seem to find anyone else experiencing this.
many thanks for taking the time to read this.

I would go in person to the job centre and ask to speak to someone. Even if they can't see you that day I would hope that presenting in person would get you an appointment within a week.

I am fortunate that my migration to UC went very smoothly but it was all done in person at the job centre by the person who verified my work status (slightly different as I'm self employed).

That sounds like a nightmare. I would ask for an appointment too so you can get an explanation.

Thank you for all your suggestions. It did seem as though it was just bad luck, I’m glad others went smoothly.
I ended up being able to speak to someone today who could confirm it has all finally been verified (the last person I spoke on the phone did apologise for it taking unusually long)

I had never been to the job centre before my first visit, it’s a rather scary place isn’t it. (Thankfully I have always been lucky enough to be employed so I have never had a reason to go there yet, other than to verify myself back in April)
hopefully it’ll be smooth sailing now… I thank you both again for replying to me.
have a lovely day 💜

I am so glad yours went smoothly, it did seem I was just having some bad luck and seemingly overlooked. But I was contacted by someone today who has said it will be sorted and everything is verified now thank goodness and should get my payment this week 🤞

They are way behind on verifying children but even so it shouldn't have taken so long. Glad it appears to be sorted now.
