DWP writing to thank me for letting them know my change in circumstances

I did not contact the DWP. I was only awarded September 2023. What is going on? They have sent me another pack to fill in telling them all about my changes. Has this happened to anyone else at all? Quite upset to be honest. It was stressful enough applying the first time let alone having to do it all again so soon.

Which benefit is this for Op?

This may have been sent by mistake and can be cancelled. You will need to call DWP to check. Make sure you note down the name of the person you spoke to and the time and date of the call

Turtlesea · 18/05/2024 09:39

It is for PIP.

Have you had any changes of circumstances? If not I would just contact them and say nothing has changed and you don’t understand why you got this letter. Like previous pp says, ask for a ref number for the call, screen shot your call log, ask for handlers name etc.

Thank you all. I will phone them on Monday to sort this out. I will let you know the outcome.

I have had no change in circumstances since I first applied.

All sorted now. I phoned up. Spoke to a gentleman who said that how on earth this "change of circumstances" ended up on my notes he has no idea. He also wondered who could have got through to my account with all the security questions in place. Up shot is he has made a note all over the system that this was NOT me who contacted them and the case is now closed.
