Does anyone know where I can go with a legal query about housing association tenancy?

I've recently done a mutual exchange and am due to get my assured tenancy with my new housing association.

Only my tenancy with my previous HA was carried over from the council so I actually had a 'Secure' tenancy with them and I was told whatever type of tenancy I had with my old landlord would pass over to new.

If I do still have a secure tenancy that would include the right to buy.

My housing over is very dopey and messed up even the most basic tasks so I can't ask her.

Is there a specialist place I could get advice?

Assuming you're in England Shelter would be a good starting point:

You don't take your tenancy with you when exchanging, the person you are swapping takes on yours.
So they've got your RTB. You've now got RTA as it's a HA.

@ToBeOrNotToBee the issue here is, I think, the type of tenancy.

OP has been in present place on a tenancy that has right to buy and is worried the new one may be in a different form with no such right.

If you ring the HA they should be able to tell you what sort of tendency you’re now on. As PP mentioned you’ll have taken on the tenancy of the person you exchanged with and you may not have RTB any more.

That's what exchanging does though.
If you're leaving a Council property (or HA with retained RTB) and taking on the tenancy from a tenant that doesn't have RTB, you only get RTA.

I guess they didn't explain it very well :(
