Scared to claim CMS

Wasn’t sure where to put this, hoping here is okay 🤞🏻
My baby has his first birthday tomorrow. His dad left while I was 5 months pregnant and we have never spoken since.
This whole time I’ve been terrified to claim CMS. My main fear is he will suddenly want contact out of spite.
I spoke to CAB and they advised mediation. 🙄
I feel like I need to claim but I’m so scared of poking the bear.

If anyone does come across this I’ve done it and feel ready to puke! But I’ve done it

Even if he wants contact, as he's had no contact at all since birth, it would be a massively slow process to build bonds between DS and his dad.

Yes that's a risk you have to take. But yes it's possible so no one can tell you it isn't.
