UC childcare payment when

If my assessment period is from 17th to the 17th of each month
And I pay my childcare today for the childcare I had in the Easter holidays (they didn't send the invoice till after she'd been)
And I report it to universal credit today when I've paid
Will they repay me for the childcare in a couple of days or will I have to wait till after my assessment period ends to have it repaid?

It will be after your assessment period.

Oh right well in that case I'll wait till towards the end of my assessment period to pay it then.
It gives me a month from the invoice to pay it.
Then I won't have to wait so long to get it back

It’s best to do it as soon as possible as generally they will only pay for childcare within a specific period. They can backdate but only for a limited time generally it will only be forward dated. It’s best popping a message on your journal.

Oh right ok perhaps I'll do that then
Bit confusing

Just if I pay it now and then have to wait a month to get it back from universal credit it's going to be really hard

You can get an advanced payment, I've never had one so unsure how it works but might be worth looking into.

Yes, thanks, I'm not going to get an advanced payment it's not worth it as you have to pay it back anyway. But thank you
