Hi Guys
I am hoping someone could shed some light on a UC question. I'll try explain the best I can. I started claiming UC in December 2019 , I have health conditions that got worse over the past few years . In 2023 I was placed in the LCW group after assessment and when i was about to put a change or circumstances in they beat me to it and asked me for a review. I was put on the LCWRA on 9th April.

I have called UC and was told that i have to wait 3 months period before i get the LCWRA element and by another advisor i will get on the 24th this month (my normal paydate)

I haven't sent in sick notes for over two years so i have no idea when this money will be paid.

any help would be great thanks

If you are reporting ill health initially, whether on a new claim or an existing one, you need to file a fit note asap. That triggers the Work Capability Assessment process.

If at that stage you are found to have LCfWRA then there's a wait period, often said to be three months though in practice longer, from when you filed the fit note before payment starts.

In your case you were already on LCfW and found, on reassessment to have LCfWRA activity too.

In that case there's no wait and payment should start in the current AP - presumably that ends this week with pay day of the 24th.
