Northern ROck - would you put your savings there now?

They appear to be offering 6.25% which is higher than most others but would you put your savings there?

In theory my head knows that it is one of the safest places to save. However I just see the faces of Gordon Brown and Alistair Darling, and ask myself whether I trust them with my savings?

I think that savings are guaranteed up to about £30,000 by some kind of legislation. So even if they went bust you'd get it back. Anyway, if they went bust, they'd be bought out by someone. A financial adviser would know better.
