UC to ESA

I’ve been on UC for 7 months and only work part time-a few hours a week. I won’t be able to work 35 hours a week and reach MIF due to severe mental health issues.
I haven’t been to see the dr but have tried over the years and am currently trying to work up the courage to get some help. I manage my issues with avoidance but is really difficult. I have persistent panic attacks alongside severe anxiety and some depression.
Anyway I’m asking advice on whether I sign off UC and apply for ESA or do I apply once I’ve seen the dr while still on UC?
And any advice on what group I’d be in? Looking at the rates they seem lower than UC?
