Hi all! Has anyone else had a situation like mine? I put £500 in cash into the paying-in machine inside my Lloyds branch. The machine began to bleep and say error on the screen. It returned just one of my £20 notes saying it couldnt process some of the money. A member of staff went into the back of the machine and came back with a further £380 so a total of £400 returned to me.
They said they would have the engineer out to get the rest back and call me the next day. However the next day no call. I went back into the branch today and they are claming there was no more money in the machine and impying i was either lying or mistaken! I know i put £500 in but I have no actaul proof as the machine jammed and stopped working before issuing a recipt! Im so upset and worried i need that money back! anyone with a similar experience Id love to hear about it. Thank you for reading x

Do they have CCTV? I thought that was fairly standard these days.

I refuse to use those machines for this reason. I had a cheque chewed up, it was a ridiculous hassle trying to get another cheque issued.

How rude to imply you were lying or mistaken. I would complain briefly but formally.

Their machine malfunctioned causing you unnecessary stress and is now wasting your time.

The bank staff need to get a life. Sounds like you are in the UK. I lived there for two years and loved it so much but did think customer service in general was very bad!

There maybe a process similar to atm midispense.

i asked about cctv i thought that there must be cameras but the problem is i just put it in as one piece as instructed so all it would show is all the bundle of notes going in as one if you see what i mean. I also asked if the machine could identify the weight of the notes as well to identify the amount. They just kept saying there was no more money found in there! I was saying but it cant vanish!

The machines have logs. They'll be able to tell how many notes were put in & in what denomination
