Applied for universal credit- still received tax credit payment

I've read everywhere that as soon as you apply for UC through managed migration you will stop receiving tax credits. I completed the online application last Thursday but have today (Wed) received my usual weekly tax credit payment. Now I'm worried I've done something wrong for them to still be paying me TC??

Has anyone else had this happen and did it all work out correct or did you experience problems as a result?

I had this and knew it would be a mistake so put all the tax credit payment aside. Sure enough 6 weeks later I've had an updated tax credits statement saying I owe them a week and a half of tax credit money. They don't include a way of paying them back on the letter though so I'm probably going to have to wait in an endless phone queue to find out.

In my case it was due to the delay between submitting my UC claim and doing my ID check in person at the job centre.

Thanks for your reply. Good idea about setting it aside to pay it back.

I did my ID checks online immediately after I submitted the application, so not sure it could be that in my case.
