Pip claim 2024

Hi does anyone have any recent experience with pip and timescales? I asked for the forms, for my husband the end of November 23. I then phoned in January 24 because we hadn't received any, the lady stated there had been a issue and would send them out. She did, I sent them back beginning of February 24. I had read that other people got texts ect to say they'd been received but we didn't. So the beginning of March I rang to see if they had gotten them, the person I spoke to said they had, it's been sent to the assessment centre and they have a deadline of the 2nd April to get back to them. I didn't realise the assessment centre has deadlines as others seem to be waiting much longer.

They normally text you and write to say they have your forms and will be arranging an assessment by phone, video or in person quite quickly. Sometimes they do home visits. It shouldn't be long now. Sometimes to speed it up & depending on Atos or Capita availability they'll send you for an assessment further away but you should check if there's one nearer you and request this if disability and pain levels too great. Yes they have deadlines but it depends on staff & centre availability. Shouldn't be long now. Hopefully you've kept a copy of the forms. Oh yes, occasionally they don't do any assessment and award pip based on GP and consultants evidence plus what is said in the forms. That's rare though.

They seem to take 2-3 months from sending the forms in.

One I helped a client with in late October and he got details of his award in late January. Another applied in late December and was declined on 31 January, now waiting for a Mandatory Review.

Thank you for your replies. They have just rang out of the blue about an hour ago. The lady was lovely, said she just wanted to ask a couple of questions. Phone call lasted about 10 minutes. She said she now sends her report back to dwp.
