Carers Allowance application question

I applied in January because
My pay was reduced from beginning of January to under the £139 p/w threshold. However the application form wanted me to state the amount I had received for my previous pay, which was in December and was way above the threshold. Since submitting the application, I've received my January pay which is reduced. However there is no record of that in my application. Does anyone know if they can check through HMRC or something, to see what applicants are earning? Otherwise they might say I'm earning too much.

I used to ring every month with that months earnings. They said hmrc was a different system....

It seemed so not fit for purpose tbh.

Perhaps I should give them a call
