botwatch 81. The latest thread in a very long series about the deceptions practised by mlms. Unbelievably people are still being hooked in by these schemes where 97 of those who join lose money?

Thread 81! The scam that keeps on giving! MLM, network marking, social selling or whatever else you want to call it. It rinses you of your money, time and friends for the dream of wealth, which never happens. Why? The business model ensures that only those at the very top of the 'pyramid' stand a chance of wealth, all the rest of us just "pay to play". The dream is a nightmare. Tell your stores here.

Strange she made no mention of her qualification for the GR when it was announced on the FLP page on 23 Feb. Not a word that I can see on her page. Perhaps Mr Yawn can’t afford the time off and she can’t go without him as she needs him to prop her up, stop her standing around like a spare part as she isn’t part of the gang and hold her hair out of her own vomit just like last year?

I’d forgotten about the Global Rally! It’s always so entertaining and I’m looking forward to seeing the UK contingent suffering through a long flight in cattle class, heat stroke and Delhi belly while trying to appear super happy and grateful.

It’s not long now - first week in April!

I really really really hope they're flying Air India. It's quite the experience I can tell you.

YouOKHun · 13/03/2024 16:11

Yes I have had that experience many year ago @dickiedavisthunderthighs. It was considerably cheaper than my other options at the time and I rashly thought ‘how bad can it be?’. When flying their most successful bots out to Indian on the house am sure FLP will be as cost conscious as I was. A family a few seats away from me started vomiting roughly above Hounslow, just after we left the tarmac at Heathrow and where they led many other passengers followed.

danbarnes · 13/03/2024 17:22

I wonder if the edit at the beginning of the promotional video was to cut out a fart by Wig. Sleaze can definitely smell something by the look on his face as she's talking.

YouOKHun · 13/03/2024 18:40

@danbarnes maybe Wig is just becoming a passenger and a barrier to Sleaze’s Man at C&A World Takeover? Any fart would have been included as it would have added some gravitas to the whole pointy comedy.

Multilevel marketing companies commonly misrepresent distributor earnings
A TruthInAdvertising.org (TINA.org) investigation
https://truthinadvertising.org/industries/mlm-companies-income-claims/
into multilevel marketing (MLM) companies found that 98 of 100 companies misrepresented how much typical recruits were likely to earn. The study included all 93 companies on the June 1, 2023, Direct Selling Association membership list plus Tupperware, LegalShield, Pruvit, doTerra International, Monat Global, Vida Divina, and eXp Realty. For those that provided enough information to calculate overall earnings, TINA.org found more than 80% of their distributors made $1,000 or less for the year (before deducting business expenses) and many distributors made no money at all. TINA.org’s database includes more than 4,300 examples dating from 2018 to the present of companies and/or their distributors making inappropriate earnings claims on their websites and social media platforms, [MLMs continue to recruit with deceptive earnings claims. MLM Companies Income Claims - Truth in Advertising

@xenu1 I see Yawn is included in the links on the Income Claims database for FLP in that article.

Thx!

I have no idea who Yawn is (and don't care :))

But I am always heartened by the public-spirited huns on MN who keep the pressure on these <expletive-deleted> MLMs.

As this long-lived thread gloriously demonstrates!

Keep up the excellent work!

Angrymum22 · 13/03/2024 22:15

Last year Yawn went very quiet about the Global Rally in Bali. So much so we didn't think that she was actually going. Maybe she is using the same tactic this year. Although she needs to get a move on if she is going to get vaccinated. DS went to India this time last year and it cost over £200 to have the vaccinations, GPs now charge for them. She wouldn't have needed them for Bali (or maybe she should have had them).
Also visas need to be applied for, quite easy online but also very easy to mess them up. They are not expensive but still it all adds up.
You can't take cash into India and you have to organise a SIM card for use over there.
India is not your average holiday destination even in the tourist areas. Most of the group DS travelled with ended up with Delhi Belly during the 10 days they were there, apart from DS who updated me daily with texts about the state of his bowels. He follows his grandfather who was the only other person I know who was constipated in India.
In addition the hotels they are staying in are all next to the airport so probably not very scenic.
It also hits 40 deg at that time of the year.
We haven't long to wait but expect a bit of intrigue!

BSintolerant · 13/03/2024 23:02

God help India if Yawn goes on that apology for a holiday and ends up with Delhi belly. She’s so full of shit that the Indian government would have to declare a state of emergency.

The Law of Reaction?
It was only yesterday that @YouOKHun said Castle would be finding a feather soon.

Spongebobette · 14/03/2024 07:43

She absolutely has to go. It’s the big event she must be seen at. She has no excuse (children doing exams etc) and there’s no reason her husband can’t go with her as her +1 as her children don’t need a parent to stay at home. She’s not done the ‘I’m taking a favourite minion with me’ move this year either

so I look forward to the ‘we are being whisked away to a free all inclusive luxury holiday by the generous company I work alongside’ posts

Plucked from her own behind no doubt! 😉

Spongebobette · 14/03/2024 09:35

She needs to stop buying cushions or pillows with feather fillings - I have that problem with feathers escaping but it’s not a dead relative pulling them out

judgementfail · 14/03/2024 10:13

Still radio silence from Weird Willy on the Facebook.

6 weeks now. Think he's flounced?

SnoogyWoo · 14/03/2024 10:17

He’s probably done a runner from the credit card bill he racked up on his revolutionary app 😆

Sugarplum48 · 14/03/2024 11:41

That cant be good for yawn being featured on a article like that surely? It's also very obvious she has no real idea what meditation actually is or how to do it. Maybe she should focus on talking without doing the constant irratating lip smacking noise, go and get a job and stop lying about her life.

Spongebobette · 14/03/2024 13:07

None of her minions will ever see it

xenu1 · 14/03/2024 16:47

From the truthinadvertising link above, I noted the FL official income disclosure statement. (Small print at the bottom of the page under the naff prizes).

Apologies, I seem unable to edit the above post So I'll add to it. The direct link is:

https://truthinadvertising.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Forever-Living-site-_-Income-Disclosure-capture.pdf

From my calculation, of the 11.4% on "Monthly Purchasers" (is that distributors with adequate Case Credits, or anyone? I doubt that just anyone gets a discount)
Anyway of that 11.4%, 69% earn ~105$ per month, and 30% earn ~ 1.5k$ per month.
Those "earnings" include all the "freebies" - and do not take account any costs incurred...

https://truthinadvertising.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Forever-Living-site-_-Income-Disclosure-capture.pdf

Spongebobette · 14/03/2024 17:36

And of course none of the earnings take into account any expenses , such as subscription to the website (how much is that per month?), attendance at Success Days, paying for refreshments at your business launch etc etc etc

YouOKHun · 15/03/2024 00:02

@judgementfail he seems to have abandoned Insta too. Not sure about TikTok. I am sure that comment from a Not-Kind-Man has got to him. Unless it’s just a coincidence - last time he disappeared he reappeared on the insolvency register. I suspect he’s either had to face the music financially or he’s in a tussle with Homeschool over their children (sadly) as she was unhappy with the adequacy of his accommodation and was witholding access I think. How much better for him if he just got a proper regular job.

That flat/bedsit is a shit tip judging by the background on some of the photos.

What he really never talks about is that he was also in FL and got to the heady heights of Assistant Manager. In fact having poked around a bit it's pretty clear that he was married to the mother of his two sons when he met Homeschool. What appealed to him about just-divorced single-but-doing-pretty-well-financially Homeschool I wonder? And such terrible luck about his exes all being narcissists. What are the odds?

Spongebobette · 15/03/2024 16:41

His sons have different mothers, so he’s got 3 ex wives, all of whom were narcissists and preyed on him as an empathetic kind man. So he says. I invoke the Lady Bracknell rule.
