End of year earnings and child benefit tax help

My husband is going to go over the 50k limit. We can’t put a lump of money in a pension to keep the child benefit as frankly we need that money! Can we buy shares in the company he works for under their salary sacrifice scheme to take him under the threshold and sell them the following tax year? Sounds implausible I know…

How far over will he be?
You pay back 10% for every £1k over £50k and then once you reach £60k it would all be paid back
