Maternity pay / shared parental leave

We’re TTC and just trying to understand the policies so that we know how much to save. DH will get the standard 2 weeks paternity and his shared parental policy is ShPP only.
My work has an enhanced maternity and shared parental policy - maternity 14 weeks full pay, 25 weeks SMP then 13 weeks no pay. Shared parental - 14 weeks full pay, 25 weeks ShPP then 11 weeks no pay.
I guess my question is if I take 14 weeks full pay maternity, do we lose that 14 weeks full pay shared parental leave, or can I take 14 weeks maternity (on full pay), end maternity there to trigger shared parental leave (and take the 14 weeks shared parental full pay) and DH take up to 10 weeks ShPP?

The policy is not clear at all about shared parental pay period being deducted from maternity leave so I’m really unsure.

It completely depend on your company policy but I would be amazed if they let you take the full pay for both.
I would say you could benefit from the maternity package then your partner would just get statutory when he's off

You'll need to ask them, but I'd assume from that the 14wks full pay on the Shared Parental Leave bit was for employees of your company whose partners were on mat leave.

You are entitled to what your employer offers; your DH is entitled to what his employer offers.

Your DH will get ShPP only.

Without seeing the policies I think you will get 14 weeks full pay and 25 weeks SMP/ShPP. It’s up to you which you choose but you won’t get both.

I'd say its likely you get one or the other of the 14 weeks full pay, 25 weeks SMP/ShPP. Its unlikely you can mix and match to get 2 x 14 weeks full pay.
