When's the best time to call HMRC? Class 3 NI number

The voice msg says average call times are 30 mins.
I don't actually mind that; I can leave it on hold (quietly so the music doesn't tip me over the edge), but to join the queue you have to go through the 'what are you calling for' bot, which has about 7 layers, and listen to them telling me that I might be able to find my answer online.

I need my class 3 NI number FWIW, and everything I've looked at points me to having to call to get it.

You just have to grit your teeth and ignore the incantations to go on line....

08:30 I dialled exactly at that time and got straight through.

The lines open at 8am and I called at 8:24.

Lady I spoke to there advised to ring at 8am.

Thanks. Called at 8. Got straight through (no bot), got my 18 digit class 3 NI number and have paid the NI shortfall for one year I'm short on.

Ah thanks. My teenage son did not appreciate this small triumph (good really, he'll experience these joys himself in good time), so it's nice that a SOTI (Stranger On The Internet) is happy for me.
