Hi, I applied for pip in October for my mental health, I suffer from depression and anxiety. My claim is currently being looked at by the health professionals since 22nd December, it’s coming on to 6 weeks and haven’t been invited for an assessment, it’s causing me such anxiety that I haven’t heard anything. Can someone please advise me how long do you have to wait to have an assessment, I did put on the form I wanted to have a telephone consultation as I don’t think I could go through a face to face. Thanks in advance.

It really depends on area and backlog. In my area the assessments are generally being done within about a couple of months but it could be different in your area.

Mine took ten months.

Unfortunately they say it's with someone, but usually they don't have a clue and it's always something different when you ring the next time.
