Pay rise over calculated

MeditatationMum · 25/01/2024 13:46

I was recently awarded a pay rise from my employer. The amount that they agreed was never followed up in writing to me so only verbal.
When I've checked my payslip, the amount that they have given me exceeds the amount that they initially agreed.
How should I approach it?

I would not spend the money but wait to see if it's rectified next month. If it continues next month email your manager and let them know otherwise it makes you look dishonest

🙏 definitely! I don't think I'd be able to sleep at night! It's stressing me out already. I might just email this afternoon to see if they've calculated it correctly.

Don’t wait a month. Just go and speak to
them. Anything else is just a bit underhand and not exactly professional.

Just ask HR if you can query it and can they put your new offer in writing to you. Don’t tell them how much you think it should be.

Just got off phone with payroll. All sorted ✔️

Was it an error or do they actually want to pay you more 😉

How much over was it?

An error, unfortunately! Glad I hadn't spent it!! That holiday that I was dreaming about will have to remain a dream 😂

Did they get the decimal wrong?
