Hello. We are due to remortgage in June. I'm now looking at rates in order to lock in soon if they come down. Do I put in what I owe on the mortgage now or when it will start in June? It's about a 5k difference so does make an impact on monthly payments. Any advice appreciated. Thanks

Put in what you owe now and they will adjust it when the remortgage happens.

this is no different to when you go through a mortgage application or AIP when buying a house. You don’t know the completion date when the application goes through and is approved. Are you apply for a certain amount and on the day of completion with the house move officially complete and money exchange hands that is when the precise amount is loaned out to you

Your situation is no different from that. So as the previous poster says do exactly as you would do if you were moving house and going through the mortgage application before knowing exactly, how much is due on the day of completion.

Thank you so much
